מתקיף לה רבי זירא מאן דאמר כל שבעה קורע אמאי דלא ניתן לשוללו אלא הא דאמר מר האשה שוללתו לאלתר ה"נ

- The [observance<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e. , the period of seven or thirty days. which begins after the interment.');">¹³</span> of] mourning comes under one category and the [act of] rending<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Which is effected at the most poignant moment of grief, at witnessing the death of a beloved (even before the interment) or at the first intelligence of it.
